Bakuteh Kau
Bak kut teh
means “meat bone tea” in English. It is very popular in the South East Asia, such as Malaysia, Singapore, Batam in Indonesia, Thailand and others. It is cooked with pork ribs, herbs and spices for hours so that you can taste the scrumptiousness and the softness of the pork ribs. Other ingredients that you can add into it are any types of mushrooms, vegetables, youtiao (strips of fried dough), tofu and many other ingredients. In Malaysia, the best place to eat Bak kut teh is in Klang Valley . As it gives warmness to your body, it is more suitable to eat during cold weather.
Ingredients :-
Angelica Sinensis, Polygonatum Odoratum, Cinnamon (Kayu Manis), Lycii Fructus, Glycyrrhiza Uralensis, White Pepper (Lada Putih), Codonopsis Pilosulae, Atractylodis Macrocephalae, Flavour Enhancers (E635) (Perisa Tambahan), Sugar (Gula), Salt (Garam), Ligustici Wallichii, Star Anise (Bunga Lawang), Radix Panax Ginseng and Yeast Extract.
To Prepare :
- In a large pot, boil the 2 filter bags (do not open the bags) in 1500ml of water for 30mins.
- Add the meat, garlic, dark soya sauce, light soya sauce and oyster sauce to the boiling soup.
- Simmer for 1 hour.
Important
No added MSG and with ginseng.
