Rebana Ubi is a large cone shaped drum originated from the east coast of the Peninsular. In the olden days, the Rebana Ubi is used for long distance communication. Located on hilltop, different beats from the drum represents different type of messages sent across the villages– from wedding announcements or to alerting neighbouring villages of any dangers. The Rebana Ubi is now commonly used for traditional ceremonies, songs and dances.
