Rendang Sauce
Rendang is popular and served across Malaysia widely. Rendang is served during ceremonial occasions and celebrations such as Ramadhan, New Year, weddings, birthdays and many more. Rendang is traditionally a Malay cuisine and is cooked with meat; chicken, beef, lamb and others. It is a slow process to cook the rendang till the herbs and spices are absorbed into the meat and give a very good aroma and taste to the meat.
Rendang usually goes together with rice, ketupat (compressed rice cubes) and lemang (barbecued bamboo tube glutinous rice). The meat is tender and delicious and very authentic taste.
Ingredients :-
Rendang Spices, Chili Paste, Onion, Garlic, Galangal, Lemongrass, Ground Grated Coconut, Palm Oil, Coconut Milk, Turmeric Leaves and Water.
To Prepare :
- Empty Alif Rendang Sauce into saucepan. Boil for 1 – 2 minutes.
- Add 500gm of chicken/beef. Stir and boil. Add 200ml of water for chicken or 250ml for beef. Stir.
- Simmer until the rendang gravy is thick and the chicken/beef is tender.
- Add salt to taste
Microwave Preparation :
- For chicken, empty Alif Rendang Cooking Sauce into microwave-safe dish. Add 500gm of chicken and 100ml water. Add salt to taste and mix well. Cover and microwave on HIGH for 23 minutes.
- For beef, add 500gm of meat and 50ml water into microwave-safe dish. Cover and microwave for 30 minutes until meat is tender. Empty Alif Rendang Cooking Sauce and add 50ml of water. Add salt to taste. Microwave again on HIGH for 6 minutes.
